After a night out with my friends, the only thing I want to do is eat and curl up in bed. Where can I go for a late-night snack near my Tallahassee apartment?

Let's be honest here – after spending my night at MadSo (where there is trivia every Tuesday night) or studying at the library until close, getting food afterward is non-negotiable. I've consulted some of Tallahassee's local experts to narrow down the best restaurants to satisfy your late-night hunger.

Downtown Tallahassee

If your Tallahassee apartment is in the downtown area, you are most likely within walking distance of one of my favorite restaurants of all time: Whataburger. This underestimated restaurant is like the Mecca of fast food (no, I am not being dramatic!). Open 24/7, this cheeseburger sanctuary has two locations in the downtown area on Monroe Street and Thomasville Road to ensure you're never too far away from its orange-and-white-striped greatness. I will always recommend ordering the iconic honey butter chicken biscuit but beware, they're only available from 11 p.m. – 11 a.m. (which is perfect timing after a night out on the Strip).

Another downtown staple is the 4th Quarter Bar and Grille on Monroe Street. If you're in the mood for a late-night omelet, this is the place you'd want to end up in. Open until 2 a.m. every morning, you'll surely have enough time to hit the town with your friends and end the night with an omelet or a chocolate chip pancake (or two). However, if your uber takes forever and you end up not making it to 4th Quarter before it closes, "America's Diner" (also known as Denny's) is just down the street and it's open until 3 a.m.

Midtown Tallahassee

Just north of Downtown Tallahassee, Midtown has a ton of great late-night food options with a bit less of the city buzz compared to the downtown area. Tallahassee apartments in this area are just minutes from some of the city's best eats, including Midtown Caboose. This laid-back, railroad-themed spot serves sandwiches, burgers and has a menu full of vegan and vegetarian options. Open "until late" every day, I can guarantee this is somewhere you're going to want to stop on your way back to your Tallahassee apartment after a night of partying.

Another perk of midtown Tallahassee? Say goodbye to ordering pizza from a commercial joint and paying those annoying delivery fees. At Blaze Pizza, customers can create customize pizzas until 10:30 every night of the week. I recommend trying a pizza with pesto, feta and a drizzle of alfredo sauce on a cauliflower crust, it has all the taste factor of a pizza with half the guilt. However, if you spent your night watching Nicholas Sparks movies and want to indulge a bit, Taco Bell, Wendy's and MacDonald's can all be found near Tallahassee apartments in the midtown area. I mean, who doesn't love Taco Bell's cheesy fiesta potatoes?

Well, there you have it – a curated list of my all-time favorite late-night restaurants that'll surely be near your apartment in Tallahassee. I hope this will guide any late-night cravings you may encounter. Pro tip: many apartments in Tallahassee are equipped with a fitness center, so don't let yourself feel too bad about a late-night snack every now and then.
